Burj Al-Luqluq implements Ibn Al-Balad Camp initiative
Burj Al-Luqluq Social Center Society, within the framework of the Forsa project funded by UNFPA, in partnership with BADIL Resource Center, has launched a youth camp “Ibn Al-Balad 2 Initiative” during 2019/8 / 24-22, in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem.
The camp aimed to educate the young participants about daily life and the difficulties faced by the Palestinian refugees.
More than 20 young participants attended the camp, between ages 19-16 years, camp varied activities aimed at awareness lectures on forced displacement also known as the Nakba, Palestinian identity, and field visit to Dheisheh refugee camp and Duha neighborhood.
The Participants attend community initiative carried out by young Initiators form Aida refugee camp and met with some elderly people who lived Nakba time and settled in camps.
The camp ended with a hiking tour aimed to identify the Palestinian environment and nature, walk between Battir and Beit Jala. Battir has many historical sites, including the Roman Pools, the water system, and the Railway, which runs through the village, taking passengers from Jerusalem to Yaffa.
