Burj Al-Luqluq Launches “Community Youth Initiatives 2020” Within Forsa Project
Burj Alluqluq Social Center Society signed 4 new community initiatives within Forsa project funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The signature came in Al-Burj lighthouse at the center’s headquarters in the old city neighborhood Bab Hutta, in the presence of the center’s Executive Director, Muntaser Idkedak, and Farah Abu Zant, the project coordinator.
Sima Alami and Farah Jibrin from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) participated through the zoom technique, in addition to representatives from the community initiatives.
The initiatives that went beyond evaluation and personal interviews were as follows:
1- “It is Our Responsibility” initiative: an environmental initiative that aims to reproduce and recycle the waste paper consumed in schools, institutions, and sports clubs and benefit from its outputs.
2- “My Children is My Responsibility” initiative: an awareness initiative aimed at organizing supportive and permanent groups on social media that include mothers of various backgrounds to communicate, exchange information and experiences and guide them to answer their questions related to their children within the contents of sex education, anger management, and others.
3- “Speaking fingertips” initiative: an educational awareness initiative aimed at educating the community in the sign language of the deaf, and the most basic signs that must be known to communicate with a deaf person.
4- “Our neighborhood is more beautiful in the time of the Coronavirus”: a community initiative that aims to beautify one of the neighborhoods in the targeted Silwan village, by involving young people and residents of the neighborhood in artistic works.
The signing of the community initiatives came after two sessions of evaluating the initiatives by a two-person.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the initiatives and groups to sign the agreement, and they are Maryam Abu Ramz from the “Speaking fingertips” initiative, Malak Othman from “My Children My Responsibility” initiative, Musa Al-Abbasi from “My Neighborhood in the Time of Coronavirus” initiative, and Raneem Al-Razim from the initiative “is one of our responsibilities.”
