UNICEF decides to extend “Play and Learn” project in Phase IV which serves more than 600 Jerusalemite children
It was decided to extend the Play project and learn in its fourth stage after the end of the state of emergency in the Stork Association, Play and Learn that educational project funded by UNICEF “United Nations Children’s Fund”, which provides educational and sports services to more than 600 Jerusalem children.
The project implementation areas are distributed in cooperation with eight Jerusalem base clubs to five main regions (Silwan, Al-Issawiya, Shuafat Camp, Jabal Al-Mukaber and the Old City)
A new club (Beit Safafa Club) was added to the eight partner clubs to reach the largest number of beneficiaries.
The new project will include a team of 24 coaches/baskets, 18 teachers of mathematics, Arabic, and English, in addition to nine coordinators distributed over the nine partner clubs.
The project will complete its sports, educational, and awareness training in addition to the training for children with disabilities, which will soon be organized for the first basketball team of Jerusalem children with disabilities.
In the same context, the project continues to provide its sports services related to academic and athletic support, where a detailed meeting was held for the Play project coordinators and learned to discuss the new project and define the role of the coordinators in it and to discuss how to solve the challenges faced by the clubs in the previous project in addition to implementing football and basketball training for children benefiting in partner clubs The project has 8 training videos for each trainer from the sports team for the project except for distributing sportswear to a group of children who benefit from play and learn project
