The “Leaders for Change – Play and Learn” Camp
The “Leaders for Change – Play and Learn” camp, which lasted for a full week, was launched with the participation of 24 individuals with and without disabilities. The camp was organized in partnership between the Burj Al-Luqluq Social Center Society and the Arab Association for Persons with Disabilities.
During the camp, coach Ahmed Jaber led daily wheelchair basketball training sessions aimed at developing the participants’ skills and enhancing their abilities. The camp also included several exciting matches between the Burj wheelchair team and other teams, adding a spirit of competition and challenge among the participants.
A Pioneering Experience in Inclusion and Skill Development
This camp was a pioneering experience in activity implementation, with the primary goal of integrating our team of individuals with disabilities with the Burj Al-Luqluq girls’ team, providing a safe space with various activities. The camp’s activities focused on fostering relationships between the two teams and emphasizing the importance of regularly organizing similar inclusive events within the community.
A Variety of Activities Touching on Multiple Aspects of Participants’ Lives
The camp included various activities, most notably sports, particularly wheelchair basketball, in addition to scientific experiments, gardening, arts, and life skills. All these activities were designed to strengthen team spirit and develop participants’ skills in a supportive and motivating environment.
Pride in the Experience and Achievements
We are very proud of this rich experience, which allowed participants to learn and interact in an inclusive and supportive environment. This experience is a weekly activity and a step towards building a more cohesive and inclusive community.
